This is a very cool hike! Is the furthest southeast you can go on Oahu. We loved it so much we returned the next day to watch the sunrise.
The first picture is south of the point and we saw high school kids hanging out on the secluded beach in this area.
The next picture is Koko Crater, very beautiful. The story behind the Hawaiin name is very interesting-something about Pele, a pig god and her sister, Kapo's, magical flying vagina. Hawaiin's are a very imaginative people.
Manana (Rabbit) Island actually does resemble a rabbit, but it is named that because rabbits live on this island. The smaller island is Kaohikaipu-a bird sanctuary.
This Lighthouse uses prism glass in its lamp and has been functioning for more than 100 years.
Bunkers near the top of the hike, were constructed during WWII and referred to in James Jones' novel From Here to Eternity.
